Rebekah Durel is a native Texan. Born and raised in West Columbia, a small town about an hour south of Houston. You can try to look it up on a map but you most likely won’t find it as it is too small to be listed. She’s a lover of all things TexMex and a queso connoisseur. Upon graduating high school in 2004 she moved to Austin, TX and attended Austin Community College. With all the distractions of the big city, she wasn’t able to focus on school and took some time off before moving to Lake Charles, Louisiana to finish her degree at McNeese State University. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. While attending college she met her husband Ryan and they spent the next five years in New Orleans for his radiology residency. During her time in New Orleans Rebekah worked for Search Influence, an internet marketing agency as an account manager. She enjoyed hanging out with friends and was on intramural co-ed dodgeball and kickball teams, winning the championships for each. Upon completion of her husband’s residency, they moved back to the Lone Star State to Dallas for one year while Ryan completed his Neuroradiology Fellowship. There Rebekah became pregnant with Jack and two weeks before her due date they moved to Austin, TX in July of 2018. After 3 long days of labor Jack Ryan Durel was born on July 26, 2018 at Seton Main. Eight weeks later Rebekah and Jack took their first Stroller Stride class at Dick Nichols Park and have attended Fit4mom classes ever since. Rebekah is excited to take on ownership of Fit4Mom South West Austin and is looking forward to helping new moms achieve their goals in fitness and health.
